The Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly has stepped up efforts to improve sanitation at the Kasoa New Market by distributing 30 litter bins to the Kasoa New Market branch of the Lordina Mahama Fan Club.

In addition, the assembly presented electric bulbs to the club for installation at the market.

The Awutu Senya East Municipal Chief Executive, Dr Adams Nuhu, presented the items after members of the club had undertaken a clean-up exercise at the market.

He later joined members of the club for the second round of its health screening exercise.

Interacting with journalists later, Dr Nuhu said it was the desire of the assembly to ensure that the municipality was clean and devoid of diseases.

He said the occasion brought a total bulb and bins distributed by the assembly to communities to 1000 adding that it would continue with such exercise, among other things, for the development of the area.

Dr Nuhu commended the club for the health screening and the clean-up exercise and said they were important for a healthy society.

For his part, the Chairman of the club, Alhaji Haroun Tetteh, thanked the MCE for his support.

According to him, some of the bins would be placed at vantage points and others distributed to shop owners for the collection of refuse.

The club, he said, would continue to undertake various projects that would enhance the wellbeing of the people and the development of the municipality.
