First look: Diamond Thug’s brand new music video
Cape Town – Diamond Thug released a new music video for their song Mind’s Eye on Wednesday.
Mind’s Eye is the second single off of Diamond Thug’s debut EP, Monday Will Have to Wait.
A driving rock n roll number, recorded in Boston through Converse’s Rubber Tracks Global programme with Dave Minehan (engineer) and Matt Carlson (assistant-engineer), a Mind’s Eye "refers to being able to see or experience beyond the physical or controllable", says lead vocalist, Chantal Van T.
"It’s an almost esoteric concept, evoked by feelings that disrupt or shake up daily realities and provide an awareness of a world we are not familiar with."
Filmed in the South African National Library, the video follows the lead character, played by Anwhar Adams, as he breaks free from a position enforced by society.
"Don’t we all wish we could do that sometimes? Let loose and be exactly the person we desire to be? We follow this feeling of desire through the video, and the link between the music and plot line is passionately portrayed through the performance of our main character Anwhar Adams," says Michelle Nel, producer, co-director and editor.
Diamond Thug will also be embarking on a European tour at the end of July for one month. They will be playing shows in Berlin (DE), Bremen (DE), Amsterdam (NL), Morzine (FR) and Chamonix (FR)
