Grey's Anatomy's Jesse Williams to receive Humanitarian Award at BET Awards



Grey's Anatomy star Jesse Williams is getting honored for his work off the camera.

Williams, 34, will receive the Humanitarian Award at Sunday's 2016 BET Awards, which will honor him for raising awareness of the Black Lives Matter movement, the network announced Monday.

He served as executive producer of the BET documentary Stay Woke, about the Black Lives Matter movement, and also spoke out about it in the media.

Sunday's BET Awards will also include an all-star tribute to Prince, featuring Sheila E., The Roots, D'Angelo and Janelle Monáe

black-ish stars Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross are hosting for the second year in a row.

The 2016 BET Awards air Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on BET.
