Iggy Azalea, Nick Young split: Engagement ends over “trust”

Iggy Azalea and Nick Young have split. The singer announced on Instagram on Sunday that she and the Los Angeles Lakers star have called off their engagement.

“Unfortunately, although I love Nick and I have tried and tried to rebuild my trust in him – It’s become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to,” Azalea wrote in a statement.

“I genuinely wish Nick the best. It’s never easy to part ways with the person you planned your entire future with, but futures can be rewritten and as of today mine is a blank page.”

For his part, Young later tweeted, “Single.” The couple had gotten engaged nearly a year ago in June 2015.

As Gossip Cop reported, Young seemingly admitting to cheating on Azalea earlier this year in a video secretly recorded by his Lakers teammate D’Angelo Russell.

The singer forgave her then-fiance for his alleged infidelity but later said in a radio interview that she warned Young he’d “have half a penis” if he were to cheat again. She added, “I already said, ‘Just one more video. One more thing and you will lose a quarter of your meat.'”

It’s not clear if another cheating incident is what led to the couple’s breakup, but the singer’s post seems to insinuate that. Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for Azalea for clarification.
