Tight panties linked to low sperm count

Fertility expert Professor Allan Pacey, from the University of Sheffield, has said if men want to improve their chances of fathering a child they should not wear tight underwear.

According to professor Pacey, a study was done on 2,500 young men and the single biggest risk factor they found was wearing tight underwear.

“Men who wear tight underwear are two-and-a-half more times likely to have poor sperm than men who wear boxer shorts.'

Another factor that though needed to be worried about was smoking and alcohol consumption.

Professor Pacey said men produced sperm throughout their life, but as they got older the quality declined.

There was also mounting evidence that children born to men over the age of 40 were more likely to suffer from conditions like schizophrenia, autism, Down's syndrome and dwarfism.

Dr. Kenneth Frimpong, a reproductive health expert at the City of Hope Fertility Hospital in Accra also confirmed the assertion.

He cautioned parents to be mindful of panties they buy for their male children to avert any future fertility problems.

Dr. Kenneth Frimpong also warned men who wish to be fathers in future to be mindful of what they wear.
