Tbo Touch to launch record label and entertainment company
Only a few weeks after resigning from one of the biggest radio stations in South Africa, Metro FM, Tbo Touch has announced that he will be launching his own record label and entertainment company.
Tbo Touch, real name Thabo Molefe, abruptly resigned from his Metro FM show The Touchdown without giving clear reasons.
He was allegedly suspended in 2015 after costing the radio station at least R15-million.
According to SundayWorld, Tbo Touch refused to read a Hyundai advert on air, was involved in a physical confrontation with one of his producers and allegedly put the phone down on his boss when confronted.
After 12 years with the SABC station, Touch shocked the nation when his resignation letter was leaked a few weeks ago.
"I never resigned from radio, I resigned from Metro," Tbo Touch told his fans in a Rosebank nightclub where over the span of a few hours he splashed money on free drinks for everyone.
He was rumoured with a move to Highveld Stereo but could not confirm except to say "You gonna hear me on radio real soon" and announced his new company Showroom Entertainment allegedly in partnership with business man TK Nciza.
Tbo Touch said that he will be signing one of the biggest international artists and that he will be bringing comedian Katt Williams in South Africa.
He also hosted a SuperSport show A La Carte ahead of the Euro 2016 final match with Maps Maponyane and Thuli Thabethe on Saturday morning but it is not clear if this move is on a permanent basis or not.
